We won!

Back in the spring of 1982, I was a 68-pound freshman in a small boarding school in Asheville. One of my most vivid memories was watching a very young Michael Jordan shoot a 17-foot jumper that won the national championship for the Tar Heels.

Eleven years later, I was wedged on an overcrowded couch in Silverlake, watching Dean Smith win his second and final championship.

Now, another twelve years later, I had the pleasure of seeing North Carolina rise to the top again. This year we enjoyed the victory from Dave Diamond's luxurious new home.

In a time when things to cheer about have been few and far between, it sure felt good to walk away with the trophy for a change.

Hopefully, I won't have to wait another twelve years for the next one.

Cabo

Sarah, Willa, Talia and I spent a very relaxing week down in Mexico. Sarah's sister, Amy, joined us for the break.

We stayed in the Houghton's timeshare at a sassy beachfront resort. Yes, it had everything you would want in a tropical oasis; a large clean room with a fridge and a toaster, two massive pools connected with a waterslide, cool little cabanas on the beach, plenty of restaurants within walking distance...good times.
