Prince

A few weeks ago I awoke to learn that a neighbor had died in a fire. Prince was his name. I never met him, but I saw him a few times. He watered his grass a lot, used the old finger-in-the-hose method, no need for fancy lawn sprinklers. Prince was 94 years old and would've turned 95 a few days later.

Interesting and ironic -- a dude who's involved with water goes up in flames. I wonder if the firemen fought the blaze with an old garden hose that someone had thoughtfully left on the front lawn.

The fire happened in the middle of the night and I never heard a thing, which is odd since there were firetrucks roaring past our window, but another neighbor told me that he remembers hearing a chainsaw at 3 in the morning. He looked at his clock and thought, "jeez, what kind of an inconsiderate prick is using a chainsaw at this hour?" Turns out it was the firemen cutting through some window bars.

You probably didn't hear anything because of your ear infection.
